Giving

Ounce by Ounce, Pound by Pound,
YOU can make a TON of difference
for the Ronald McDonald House!

Nationally, one of our best known fundraising programs is the Tab Top campaign.  Community members collect the aluminum tabs from cans to support the Ronald McDonald House.

Here's how easy it is to make a TON of difference in the lives of the families who turn to the Ronald McDonald House when facing a medical crisis with their critically – ill children:

It’s easy as 1,2,3

  • Just pop off tabs from the soda, vegetable, soup, pet food cans, and special diet food cans.
  • Save them in any container.
  • Deliver them to the Ronald McDonald House in Portland.

Why “Pull for the Ronald McDonald House”?   Our goal is to create awareness of and community support for the House, raise funds to help our families, and promote recycling at the same time.  Tabs are weighed by Maine Metal Recycling and the money collected, about $.50 a pound, help to off-set our operational costs.

Why collect only the tabs?   Because Maine has a redemption program people can still get money for their cans, and collect the tabs.

What do I do with the tabs that I have collected?   They can be dropped off or sent to:

The Ronald McDonald House of Portland , ME
250 Brackett Street
