About Us
Welcome to the Ronald McDonald House® of Portland, Maine, Inc., a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing affordable, safe and supportive temporary home-like housing to families of seriously ill children receiving treatment at nearby hospitals and medical facilities. As a home away from home, we offer a safe and quiet place where family members can get away from the hospital environment, give and receive support to other families facing similar situations and ease some of the stress associated with their childrens health. Any family whose home is more than 25 miles from Portland is eligible to stay at the Ronald McDonald House if they have a sick child (21 years or younger) being treated at Maine Medical Center, Mercy Hospital, Spring Harbor Hospital or Mercy Westbrook Community Hospital. |
