Night of 1,000 Smiles

January 7, 2012 - 7:00pm to 10:00pm

Although the final numbers are still being tallied, business and community supporters, families, board members and volunteers brought their smiles to the Cumberland County Civic Center on Saturday, January 7 making A Night of 1,000 Smiles, hosted by the Portland Pirates and McDonald's, a huge success.

The evening started out with the Hills, our honorary RMH family, having Sherri and Daniel each drop a puck to start the game that had 5,000 people in attendance. The McDonald's UpTeam brought lots of fun, festive energy especially with Kevin bouncing all around the lobby and in the arena on metal stilts. Real smiles matched the paper ones that were handed out to both children and adults.

With the Ronald McDonald House DVD playing on the four-sided center screens pre-game; two Time Warner Cable TV interviews given by Amanda Hill, RMH family and Robin Chibroski, Executive Director; the drawing of raffle tickets for the many wonderful items, and promotional announcements throughout the three periods, the Ronald McDonald House story was seen and heard by so many.

We are truly grateful to ALL who helped by designing the theme and promotional poster, spreading the word, selling or purchasing tickets, and donating items for the raffle in support of A Night of 1,000 Smiles!
