"A Night with Kenny Mayne in Maine"

June 25, 2011 - 6:30pm to 11:30pm

On Saturday, June 25, 2011 Ronald McDonald House supporters and fans of the popular ESPN Sportscaster spent an evening with Kenny Mayne at the Big Easy in the Old Port.  The event was filled with Kenny's off- beat stories and heartfelt words, as well as live music from the Time Pilots and Zach Jones Band. During the evening guests were able to meet Kenny, get autographs and take pictures. The Heart of Gold, given in highest honor and recognition for tireless efforts and extraordinary service, dedication and compassion given to the House that Love Built ®, was presented to Kenny and his wife Laura (see insert photo) in recognition of all they have done to support children and families since they themselves had stayed at the House in 1996.

The Ronald McDonald House wants to send a big "Thank You" to Kenny Mayne and his family, as well as the Time Pilots and the Zach Jones Band and all who attended this fun and successful evening.

About Kenny Mayne:
From the moment Kenny Mayne and his wife, Laura, walked through the Ronald McDonald House doors in May 1996, he and his family have remained in our hearts. Kenny has performed countless acts of kindness and shown incredible generosity in support of the children and families who are facing one of life’s greatest challenges - a seriously ill child. His spirit and enthusiasm are deeply woven into the heart and soul of the House that Love Built®.

As a popular ESPN Sportscaster, Kenny is known for his wonderful sense of humor, his Kenny-ism sayings and an off-beat reporting style that inspires laughter while offering a unique point of view on his stories.

He has served in a variety of roles during his tenure with ESPN, providing features to Sports Center, covering the Kentucky Derby and thoroughbred racing and offering “The Mayne Event” segments during the Sunday NFL Countdown. Kenny also starred in early episodes of “Dancing with the Stars,” continuing to offer colorful commentary on special nights and he recently authored a book, “An Incomplete and Inaccurate History of Sport.”
